Angola by the Bay Women’s Group was started in 1976 by Lynn Jankus, who became its first president. The purpose of the group, then and now, is to enhance the quality of life in our community, to raise money for local charities and award a $1,200.00 scholarship yearly, to host social events, and to just have fun together. We hold a yard sale, conduct a Mah Jongg Tournament and host a Craft Show annually to earn money for our donations.
Membership in the Women’s Group is open to women who are community members. Yearly dues are $10.00, collected starting in November. We meet on the second Wednesday of the month from March through December, usually at 7:00 pm in the clubhouse.
Some fun things we do include luncheons at local restaurants, guest speakers, sometimes cooking demos, and trips to interesting places, such as an alpaca farm and a lavender farm.
We welcome new members to visit our meetings and see what a vibrant group we are!
